Our Story
Founded on a conviction
Sutra was established by practitioners who had spent careers inside government and at the highest levels of corporate leadership. We saw, repeatedly, that the most consequential decisions — policy reforms, institutional restructuring, strategic pivots — were being made without access to the kind of rigorous, independent counsel that those decisions deserved.
We founded Sutra to fill that gap. Not as a large firm with hundreds of consultants and standardised methodologies, but as a small, senior partnership where every engagement is led by advisors who have navigated the same complexity our clients face.
Eighteen years on, that founding conviction remains unchanged. We work on fewer mandates than most firms our size. We go deeper. And we measure our success not by the volume of our output, but by what changes in the world as a result of our work.
